“Department of Negotiations” moves forward with EU-South Korea FTA discussions, aiming to conclude results this year

Today (June 13, 2025), Ms. Chotima Iamsawasdikul, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Negotiations (DIT), revealed the plan for negotiating a free trade agreement (FTA) for Thailand in 2025, stating that the department will expedite the conclusion of the pending FTA negotiations, namely the Thailand-European Union (EU) FTA and Thailand-South Korea FTA. Both parties aim to conclude the negotiations with South Korea within 2025, while the ASEAN-Canada FTA will be accelerated to progress the most in 2025 so that significant negotiation results can be concluded within 2026.
